These are the last of my pictures from the far side hanger and will be
decribed in the message text. Pictures from the main Museum building
will follow (eventually).
58-7055 - Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar
Circular VTOL research aircraft for US Army. There were actually
two of these built under this serial number. One of these was
used only for wind tunnel tests and was put in storage
at Garber facility at Silver Hill, MD. Acquired by the Air Force
Museum in 2007 and has been fully restored. The other example did
manage to make a few flights of a few feet in height and is now at
Fort Eustis, VA.
